14 Ways To Get Something Done Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

by | Motivation

Motivation is the driving force that drives us to achieve our goals and dreams. It is the fuel that keeps us moving forward, even when things get tough. Without motivation, we can become stagnant and lose the desire to pursue our passions.

There are many different factors that contribute to motivation. Some people are motivated by success, while others are driven by a sense of accomplishment. Some people are motivated by external factors, such as praise or rewards, while others are motivated by internal factors, such as a desire to achieve personal growth or self-improvement.

Regardless of the source of motivation, it is an essential element in achieving our goals. Without motivation, we lack the energy and drive to put in the necessary work to achieve success.

So how do we maintain motivation? Here are a few tips:

  1. Set clear goals – Having specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound goals can help provide direction and purpose. This will give you something to work towards and will provide a sense of accomplishment when you reach your goal.
  2. Find your passion – When we are passionate about something, it is easier to stay motivated. Find activities that you enjoy and that are meaningful to you. This will help keep you motivated and engaged in your work.
  3. Intrinsic vs extrinsic motivators-  Intrinsic motivation comes from within, while extrinsic motivation arises from external factors. We need to remind ourselves of our intrinsic motivators and why are doing this. What is the reason you are doing this? Why are you here right now? Make it about the intrinsic motivation
  4. Everything must be in your schedule- If you do not have a plan, an approach it is easy to miss the stuff. Schedule, put it in your calendar, break it down and stop putting things off because you don’t feel like doing them because when we do that it becomes a lot harder to do it.
  5. Plan for the voice in your head- Every decision you make will have opposition in your head, you wake up early the voice says go back to bed or you start a new habit and the voice says just relax and when we hear the voice we resent it or we follow it. We need to create an alternative script to communicate and converse with that voice.
  6. Focus on the after feeling- The mind holds on to negative memories and the negative memories are stronger than the positive ones, We recall insults better than praise because our negativity bias is much stronger This is why it is important to take a physical picture, mental picture and journal about the positive experiences.
  7. See how it fits the bigger picture- When you zoom in you may not feel like it,when you zoom out you get to check in with perspective. Sometimes your feelings mislead you, they distract you from what you really want to be. If you follow your feelings you may never learn any of the lessons that are useful
  8. Create accountability- This is the simplest fix to someone saying i don’t want to do something. Find someone to do it with and commit to them and ideally someone ahead of you
  9. Outsource it – If you try to get something done constantly and you never do, sure you can outsource it. Sometimes we feel like it, sometimes we don’t. It is rarely
  10. Remind yourself what that was like, and have gratitude- It is so easy to get complacent. if we can’t be grateful for a dream we used to have this next dream won’t satisfy you either.
  11. Create an external announcement- If you want to write a book, record a podcast or go to the gym. Announce it on social media, post day 1 of 100, creating a commitment out of there and that commitment drives you because you have promised people something
  12. Surround yourself with positive influences – The people we surround ourselves with can have a huge impact on our motivation. Surround yourself with people who are supportive and encourage you to reach your goals.
  13. Reward yourself – It is important to reward yourself for your hard work and progress. This can help keep you motivated and help you stay on track.
  14. Stay positive – A positive attitude can go a long way in maintaining motivation. When things get tough, try to stay positive and keep a good outlook. This will help keep you motivated and focused on your goals.

In conclusion, motivation is an essential element in achieving our goals and dreams. By setting clear goals, finding our passion, surrounding ourselves with positive influences, rewarding ourselves, and staying positive, we can maintain the motivation needed to succeed.
